Amplifier: Audio Note P1
Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): Audio Note M2SE Line
Speakers: Audio Note AN-E LX HE
Sources:
CD Player/DAC: Audio Note DAC3 w/ modded all-valve PSU
Turntable/Phono Stage: Haden Boardman 33.3
Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: Chord Epic Twin, Audio Synthesis SilverBlue, Mark Grant
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Jazz (esp. big band), blues, female vocal, indie, some electronic
System Goals/Comments: Explore different and higher-end valve power amps. Maybe try and find a modern, high-res DAC to beat the AN (tall order!)
System Strengths: Wide open soundstage; effortless scale; beautiful mids rich with life and color; deep, satisfying bass; tons of groove and bounce
System Weaknesses: Compared to my old ATC actives, the ANs are more recessed in the midband, have less dynamic range, and are less powerful and controlled in the bass. Treble not as extended or hyper-detailed as some (ribbons?)
Video/HT System: Integrated
TV/Projector: Samsung F8500 51" plasma
Sources (DVD/VCR): Samsung Blu-Ray, AppleTV
