Amplifier: Eico HF81, standby amp is DIYParadise Charlize t- class amp
Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): The Eico is an integrated, Charlize has volume pot
Speakers: Klipsch Chous - Energy XLS 10 Sub
Sources:
CD Player/DAC: Scott Nixon Tube DAC with upgraded caps - Yamaha CD555 player, Jolida J100. Use Monarchy Classic DIP with Yamaha in order to convert optical to BNC and reclock the jittery signal. Jolida is used direct and with Nixon DAC.
Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: 16 gauge no-name speaker cable. No name interconnects
Other (Power Conditioner, Racks etc.): Surge protector
Tweaks: Various tubes
Room Size (LxWxH): 20' x 14' x 9'
Room Comments/Treatments: Bare floor with throw rug, some soft furniture - fairly live
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Jazz, Current Electronica, Reggae, Classical. Brit pop
System Goals/Comments: Sweet, tubey, detailed and real sounding. Eico is better at voices, Charlize better at absolute detail and bass.
System Strengths: Easy to listen to, can be very engaging
System Weaknesses: Bottom end a bit murky at times, Eico requires TLC due to age. Speaker size makes them akward to place - tradeoff is the excellent tube/horn combination
Video/HT System: None
