RAACCR 's Junk System
IP Address: 66.229.45.4 Last Update: January 25, 2014 at 01:09:43
Amplifier: Carver PM-1.5a
Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): Carver CT-26v
Speakers: Old "homemade" junkers that look like Star Wars' R2D2; repo'd from a nightclub, circa ~1990 (seriously...not kidding)
Sources:
CD Player/DAC: None right now; need to find a new one.
Other Source(s): Yamaha TC-320 Cassette deck. Needs work, but the price was right (free). I've still got tons of old cassettes.
Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: XLR to RCA (amp to pre-amp/tuner)
Banana to 1/4" (amp to speakers)
Room Size (LxWxH): 26 x 20 x 10
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Very broad musical tastes. Classic & Southern rock, instrumentals (especially brass and strings), Country (folk thru contemporary).
System Goals/Comments: Short term: upgrade speakers to a significantly better pair; still just want to stick with passive crossover full range cabinets for simplicity's sake.

System Strengths: Ridiculously overpowered for what I need.
System Weaknesses: Old, tired speakers.
Video/HT System: Separate
TV/Projector: 65" Panasonic Viera (plasma)
Sources (DVD/VCR): Cheap Magnavox Blu Ray from WalMart
