PJD's In current rotation System
IP Address: Last Update: August 13, 2017 at 11:11:21
Amplifier: Mc275, original model, rescued from an estate clearance (it was free). Recapped etc. with much appreciated and generous guidance from a fellow inmate. (Obtained a Fisher 500c the same way. also free; it works but needs refurbishing.)
Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): None in use at the moment. DAC goes straight into the amp. DIY Hi-FI Supply Basie, Parasound PHP 850, McIntosh MX-113 in storage.
Speakers: Monitor Audio Silver 6 speakers. Replaced PSB Image 2Bs, which I was using due to small room. Vandersteen 2cesigs and Klipsch Cornwalls are sitting on the sidelines.
CD Player/DAC: CI Audio VDA 2 with CI Audio VAC power supply. Fed by Mac Mini running Audirvana and ITunes into a Peachtree Audio X1 USB to SPDIF Converter.
Turntable/Phono Stage: Technics SL-1200, Dual 1229 (needs work), not in use at the moment.
Other Source(s): Pioneer 563 A universal player; Onix 88 CD player; Marantz cc-67 carousel CD player; Ack Dac (1.2?).
Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: Morrow Audio MA3 interconnects and VH Audio Pulsar II digital cable from Peachtree Audio X1 to DAC. DIY "White Lightning" speaker cables. Some entry-level Kimber and Audioquest speaker cables in storage.
Other (Power Conditioner, Racks etc.): Nothing of note.
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Rock, blues, Americana, classical, jazz fusion.
System Goals/Comments: None at the moment other than breaking in the speakers.
System Strengths: Sound is ok considering room and speaker limitations, but fun and convenience factors are high. And the price was right.
System Weaknesses: Many, but especially the room -- a small living room. The other option is a small basement.
Video/HT System: None
