Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): been through most everything over the years. spent years and years listening to all genres on NON TOP 40 (Pacifica) independent/non-commercial radio stations---thus my interest in tuners --and quality FM very difficult to come by via analog signal and is centered , for the most part, in major metro areas with a few exceptions likely--I dont find the bulk of music I prefer on NPR type stations although it is possible to find some good music offerings on these type of stations. Some jazz, classical, and blues out there on NPR stations--at least locally --although my interest in those genres has generally faded and now prefer a "new music" to soothe for the most part. Currently I find a lot of what I like on a college station--- KFJC 89.7 which is available online of course but I am able to listen via air waves. Although very specific genre of my liking is not in plentiful air play on this station as well.. Specific programs may yield music that I will then follow up online often finding the artist on Bandcamp. The exact description of my preferred genre being difficult to label ---it has it roots in electronic music/field recordings---artists such as Coleclough, Greinke, fossil aerosol mining project, Liles to name but a few. other genres such as East Indian,,both instrumental and vocalist- literally hundreds of artists. -- There are a few good music programs on KALW 91.7 --that I am aware of ---Sundays 2 hrs of classical , followed by 2 hrs of HOS. I have not put a whole lot of effort in trying to locate a program of my liking on NPR per se , in retrospect I really dont recall hearing programs that grabbed my attention. Hearts of Space would be the exception ---although that show is not an NPR produced program ---It is broadcast on stations that are affiliated with NPR. alright, enough of my rant.
