| System Goals/Comments: | I want it to give a satisfying musical experience on all kinds of music. I am primarily a record collector, and the quality of the recordings varies widely. The system has to do at least passably well on all of them. I am primarily interested in tone and timbre. Things like soundstaging and inner detail are less important to me. |
| System Strengths: | After I got it set up, my spouse opined, without prompting: "It sounds like there's a symphony in the living room!" While I wouldn't go THAT far by a long shot, the Maggies are truly magical. This system, with all its imperfections, if FUN! :) |
| System Weaknesses: | The turntables could stand to be better I guess, although they sound fine to me. I just have to take it on faith that all those espousing audiophile tables aren't nuts. :) The problem is that I regard typical audiophile turntable engineering as laughable. Still looking for a compromise. |
