Tom B.'s MY LITTLE SYSTEM System
IP Address: 24.23.180.211 Last Update: October 30, 2009 at 05:31:41
Amplifier: This is my BottleHead Paraglow with 3 Watts via a 2A3 Power tube. It's all about that first watt. I've measured what kind of power I'm using at ear-splitting volumes and I've never hit the 2 watt mark! Photobucket

Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): EAR 834L Line stage preamp + EAR 834P Phono Stage/I'm using 3 NOS Sylvannia 5751s in 834P
Speakers: This generally is how my new/old room looks as of 3/19/2009. The late great Terry Cain developed the single diver Voight Pipe "Abby" after years of research and several trips to Japan. They're 6' tall with a port at the bass for the lower frequencies. I think they're gorgeous.

Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): My first love is Classical. I do have a great collection of classical piano and Guitar on those silver discs, but for the most part, I spin vinyl far more often. I just love what the format offers. I paticularly love mono recordings. There's a certain weight to a good single channel recording that really is quite impressive.
System Goals/Comments: Not to think of the technology, but just enjoy the music.
System Strengths: Very musical.....and with the flea-powered 2A3 SET.....warmth...warmth...warmth!!
System Weaknesses: The bottom drops off quite a bit below 40 HZ, but I'm able to intergrate a cheap KLH powered sub to great effect on most recordings....without a hint of bloating.
Video/HT System: None
TV/Projector: Sharp 15' LCD Monitor connected to my DVD and VHS players. I've recorded about 15 years worth of 'Live from Lincoln Center' and 'Austin City Limits' on video tape. Although this format is 'Dissed' quite a bit, I think the sonics are quite spectacular.....and mostly analogue to boot!!

Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: I was a Classical guitarist for 20 years, but lost my health and can't quite execute to the level I once did. I've been a voracious reader of all things concerning the Fine Arts in music, painting, sculpture, and architecture. Developing an historic time
