Room Comments/Treatments: This is a beautiful vintage system that's located in my living room. It's more for nostalgia and aesthetics than it is for performance. Used mostly for casual listening.
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Like anything except rap and opera. Prefer country rock, bluegrass, and classic rock. Also like Jazz
System Goals/Comments: I have had a lot of fun putting this system together. This is basically the system I had dreamed of as a "pennyless" 15 or 16 year old. The beauty of it is that I can have that system now for a fraction of the cost of when it was new in the 70's! The low-ish price of this equipment also makes it very possible to own many of the pieces I had been interested in years ago to see what they were like. What a great hobby! I only wish that I had need of another system or two (I have two right now).
System Strengths: Beautiful to look at and everything's in very nice condition. Really enjoy it for casual listening. I'm starting to amass a nice collection of open reel tapes that are great for parties and just listening to when I'm sitting on the patio.
System Weaknesses: Typical 70's sound - not terribly dynamic with rolled off highs and "tubby" bass. Definately not near high-end. Also the equipment requires maintenence and TLC. Finding parts can also be a problem.
Video/HT System: None
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: Professonally, I\\\'m a scientist working for a Fortune 100 company. Aside from audio and music, my hobbies include hunting/shooting, fishing, pyrotechnics (fireworks), reading, working around the house, and spending time with my family.
