Room Size (LxWxH): 25 x 14 x 8
Room Comments/Treatments: Room is currently used as living room, listening room, and HT. No treatments yet. Room is not truely rectangular. There is a 2'x2' intrusion into the room due to layout of a bedroom and it's closet. There is also a 42" high divider at the back of the room that separates the room from a path from front door to the kitchen. Also hallways and openings to other rooms. See HT system URL.
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Classical

Popular stuff from '65 to '90

System Goals/Comments: Convert room over to a combo listening and HT room by moving living room functions to family room (no wife to object). Consider remodeling media room to make it rectangular and to reduce noise level. Place the Magnepan MG-IIIa along the long wall for listening and get new Main and Center speakers for HT and 5.1 channel music. The maggies will be out about 6' from the long wall when in use and will be pushed back to the wall for HT. Add room treatments and improve cable situation.
System Strengths: Magnepan MG-IIIa - I love them for music
System Weaknesses: Room is far too noisy when the HVAC is running. Having a TV between the maggies hurts the sound in every possible way. The maggies are not going to work for HT at all when a rear projection HD TV gets added to the room in a year or so.
Video/HT System: Integrated

JVC S-VHS VRC

Other HT Gear: Tivo
