Room Comments/Treatments: Basement that is open on the left side. Speakers are 7' apart, 4' from the front wall and 8' from listening chair. A big bookshelf and surround speakers 3' behind listening position.
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Mainly classical and opera, but some jazz as well. Have 3500 classical CD's and close to 2000 LPs.
System Goals/Comments: The Symphonic Legato speakers provide much needed tonal neutrality I was seeking. These speakers also have impressive sound dispersion and great soundstaging.
System Strengths: Good detail and soundstage. On classical music, the instrument layering and depth is good. The Ayre preamp and phono provides a neutral black background and lets the music shine without much coloration. The Hegel DAC is connected via coax to Oppo and USB to computer for high res music streamer.
System Weaknesses: Room. Open on one end.
Video/HT System: Integrated
TV/Projector: LG 65" OLED
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: Marantz SR6015
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): B&W XT4 and REL T2 subwoofer
REL T3 sub
Synergistic Research subwoofer cable
Sources (DVD/VCR): Oppo BDP-105D
Other HT Gear: Verizon FiOS
Comments on HT System: The Marantz is hooked up to the Ayre via the AV Bypass. The Marantz will have to do for now, until I move to a new place and re-do the whole HT.
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: Travel, street photography, and Liverpool Football Club. You'll never walk alone!!! A little bit of a wine collector as well.
