John-from Seattle's Only system (upgraded) System
IP Address: 131.191.40.204 Last Update: April 25, 2020 at 18:49:20
Amplifier: NAD 7240PE receiver
Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): none.
Speakers: ADS L810 speakers, need to find the stands for them as they are currently on some plastic milk crates to keep off the floor
Sources:
CD Player/DAC: Denon DCM 370 CD carousel changer w/ HDCD and Burr Brown DACs.
Turntable/Phono Stage: Rega Planar 6 w/ a Grado Prestige Green 1 cartridge, running Muffsy PP4 phono pre I built from a kit and is heavily based on the AK CNC phono pre circuit design.
Other Source(s): TEAC A4300 R2R tape deck and a Nakamichi BX100 cassette deck
Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: some generic Radio Shack 12Ga speaker wire sold in bulk on a spool and retrofitted with some BFA plugs from Parts Express to plug into the binding posts on the back of the NAD (originally bought for some binding posts on the Sansui speakers I once owned when I recapped them). The other end is connected to some speaker clip pins for the speakers (ADS L810 spekaers)
Other (Power Conditioner, Racks etc.): an upgraded surge protector bought in I think 2009.
Tweaks: Replaced the captured interconnects on the turntable with some RCA jacks and now can swap out, intending to build new cables. table now sits on a bamboo cutting board with leveling spikes from Dayton Audio

Other tweaks to the table, cork mat, electrical tape at the arm lift end of arm done 18 years or so ago
Room Size (LxWxH): 15.5' x 11.5' x 8.5'
Room Comments/Treatments: I live in a small house, originally built in 1908 with plaster walls, modern laminated wood floors that got an addition built onto it in the mid 80's. Still working on getting room finalized 2.5 years into ownership
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Rock, Pop, R&B, Soul from the 50's onward, Jazz, particularly of the post war Bop/Hard Bop/Modal etc styles and have been adding to my jazz collection and to my vinyl collection in general in recent years
System Goals/Comments: to obtain better detail and better bass extension and detail, achieved with recent upgrades that is also on the warm side
System Strengths: Much better imaging, bass articulation, less glare from the upper mids, more even sounding, open and rich sounding, warm with lots of detail with good dynamics and punch.
System Weaknesses: The turntable as it's the same old budget Kenwood I've been using since 1999, but with the grado and better everything else downstream, the entire system sounds good even with that table. Still want to try and upgrade to a Rega turntable.
Video/HT System: None
TV/Projector: Until I get the living room repainted, the TV remains packed away for now. As before, my system will remain 2 channel stereo as I don't watch a lot of movies and mostly older movies and less the high ticket action packed movies of modern times
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: Same as above
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): same as above
Sources (DVD/VCR): currently nothing but the DVD player in my old eMachines PC and Cyberlink DVD player
Other HT Gear: none.
Comments on HT System: Primarly purpose here is to watch movies w/ something better than the typical 3' TV speakers for audio. Stereo is primarily for MUSIC.
