Tweaks: Dedicated 20amp power circuit from mains switchboard to system

Centre speaker angled slightly upwards to compensate for reduced height

Thick curtains behind listening position to absorb/diffuse sound waves coming from front

Rug used to diffuse ceiling to floor hard reflections

As a result, room has relatively flat frequency response from about 30Hz to 20kHz apart from a notch at 120Hz.

Projector is gamma- and colour temperature-calibrated using SMART III.

Room Size (LxWxH): 4m x 6.7m/2 x 2.6m
Room Comments/Treatments: Only half the room used for system, the other half is used as living space.
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): all kinds ('from Palestrina to Pet Shop Boys') - baroque/classical/modern, contemporary jazz, some pop
System Goals/Comments: I like music to be reproduced as accurately to the source as possible
System Strengths: This is actually three separate and independent systems integrated into a single cabinet. Each 'system' is controlled by a separate pre-amp, and can be operable even with other two pre-amps completely switched off. The three systems are:
Musical Fidelity A3.2cr - Analog two channel 'purist' sytem (no video, no digital connections)
Sony TA-P9000ES - Analog 5.1 channel system (again, no video, no digital) for SA-CD and DVD-Audio only
Cary Cinema 6 - Digital 7.1 surround for DVD-Video, DVB-T and HTPC (no analog connections except for HTPC 7.1 analog out)
System Weaknesses: room too small
surround back speakers are too small and too close to listening position compared to other speakers
Not enough room to place two subwoofers
Centre channel not at same height as other speakers, but angled slight upwards to compensate
Video/HT System: Integrated
TV/Projector: Mitsubishi LVP-HC5000 1920x1080p LCD projector
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: Cary Cinema 6 driving 4 x Musical Fidelity A5cr power amps via 5.1 bypass circuit on Sony TA-P9000ES
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): as above
Sources (DVD/VCR): Oppo DV-970HD universal player
Panasonic DVD-S97 DVD-V/DVD-A player
