Room Size (LxWxH): 14 x 12 x 8
Room Comments/Treatments: I live in an apt. so my living and kitchen are connected. The living room is carpeted with drywall walls and the kitchen is tile. My system sound's pretty good considering the room not being the idea. But the overall 'acoustic space' is much much smaller. I hear the refridgerator compressor and forget about listening when the a/c is on.
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Rock (new and old), classical, jazz, some electronic
System Goals/Comments: to put in a cd or sacd and leave the world behind. keep myself from spending $9 and up at the local theater.
System Strengths: clean midrange and high end, great imaging for the amount of money I have spent.
System Weaknesses: my bad acoustics make sound real muddy and undefined when turned up loud, also weak amp/processor, I'm looking to upgrade to a rotel preamp and amp in the near future
Video/HT System: Integrated
TV/Projector: '27 Samsung Digital HDTV Monitor
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: same as above
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): same as above
Sources (DVD/VCR): Denon DVD2800
Comments on HT System: Moving into an apartment has definately changed my listening habits. I cannot listen as loud as I want whenever I want. My neighbors are pretty cool so no complaints yet. I do sometimes hear the person below me blast his 'system' but I just put in something like the Beastie Boys Anthology DVD and create an earthquake above his head. For some reason this DVD's LFE channel is recorded at like +10 dB. See Subs. are useful in apartments. I'm looking for a house with an extra room for a dedicated listening room that can be acoustically treated
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: cars-\'89 Mustang LX \'basically stock\'
