Room Size (LxWxH): 28 x 14 x 9
Room Comments/Treatments: Family room, with sloped ceiling, open to kitchen area. Speakers are 1' from the wall, 4.5' apart, with the stereo rack in between.
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Mostly vocals, jazz, country, and classic rock -- played at low to medium volume.
System Goals/Comments: My goal is to build a good 'all around' system that works well with all types of music. I am VERY impressed with the NHT SB3's -- they just sound better and better as I make incremental improvements to my system. Hope to add a turntable some day.
System Strengths: Nice balance of detail and smoothness -- probably tilts slightly to the warm side of neutral. Very nice with vocals. Bass extension is quite good -- a solid 40Hz in my room!
System Weaknesses: Top volume is limited to about 90 dB, due to the combination of room size, speaker sensitivity and amplifier power. However, I rarely listen above 85 dB anyway!
Video/HT System: Separate
TV/Projector: Daewoo 27' color TV
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: Onkyo TX-SR500 AV receiver
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): Fronts: Polk RT35i

Surrounds: Polk RT25i

Subwoofer: Polk PSW-450

Sources (DVD/VCR): Panasonic PV-V4520 VCR

Pioneer DV-343 DVD player

Comments on HT System: Hope to add the center channel speaker eventually.
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: Husband and father of two boys!
