Room Size (LxWxH): 23 x 15.5 x 9
Room Comments/Treatments: Bookcases, wall-mounted quilts, acoustic foam tiles
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Pretty much any well-recorded, quality music, especially bluegrass guitar, a wide assortment of jazz, blues, classical, and new age. A limited selection of pop music.
System Goals/Comments: I'm a life-long music lover, and limited musician. I wanted a system that could really convey the accoustic sound of a Martin Gutiar, and still remain capable of covering the dynamics of the 1812 Overature.
System Strengths: Extremely revealing, I can regularly hear musicians breathing between notes. Very natural, and dynamic sounding. Very minimal intrusion into the original signal. Magical on well-recorded acoustic music. Enough resolving power to hear small differences.
System Weaknesses: Brutal on poor or highly equalized recordings, limited flexability, no remote volume.
Video/HT System: Integrated
TV/Projector: 36' Flat Screen
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): 6-Speaker system of DIY loudspeakers
Sources (DVD/VCR): DVD, Sony progressive scan
Other HT Gear: DIY cables
Comments on HT System: System certainly lacks the impact provided by the giant screen for action films, but w/ the 15", 1000watt subwoofer the audio is quite satisfactory.
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: Guitar
