Carlman's Main System
Last Update: September 08, 2005 at 11:39:44 IP Address: 66.26.57.189
Amplifier: 2 amps currently: DK Design Integrated (for sale)
TacT 2150x (I love room correction!)
Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): None, using integrated
Speakers: Usher X-718, with modifications
Sources:
CD Player/DAC: Audio PC using M-Audio Delta Dio
Turntable/Phono Stage: Pro-ject RM-4, w/ Dynavector 10x5
Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: Audience Conductor IC's

Tara Labs Phase 2 w/ TFA return, anti-cables, Gregg Straley cables.. comparing now.

Other (Power Conditioner, Racks etc.): Dedicated 12ga line
Tweaks: Treating room with rigid fiberglass panels... soon to have bass traps and more..
Room Size (LxWxH): 13 x 11 x 9
Room Comments/Treatments: I've got reflective molding at all seams and corners in the room, backed with fiberglass. Also using stiff fiberglass acoustic tiles covered in fabric, mounted to the walls at first reflection points.
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Jazz, Funk, Folk, Rock, alternative stuff.
System Goals/Comments: First goal is palpability. The voice of the instruments and singers must be as close to real as possible.
System Strengths: Digital Room Correction makes things more palpable, instrument separation better, etc.
System Weaknesses: Small room makes things tough.... still working on correcting the room
Video/HT System: Separate
TV/Projector: Sony 46' HDTV
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: Panasonic XR-25
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): RAD Micro system (www.rutedgeaudiodesign.com)
Sources (DVD/VCR): Panasonic F65
Comments on HT System: This is a warm, non-fatiguing (read not much in the highs) system with lots of good bass.
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: Biking, Tennis, whatnot
