Mtuller's Stereo System
Last Update: October 14, 2003 at 06:28:12 IP Address: 64.65.255.86
Amplifier: Simaudio Moon I-5
Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): None
Speakers: Totem Acoustic Hawks
Sources:
CD Player/DAC: Simaudio Moon Nova
Other Source(s): Marantz DV-8300

McIntosh MR-78

Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: DIY Belden 89259 a la Risch
Other (Power Conditioner, Racks etc.): Monster Power HTC-3500
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): All but country.
System Goals/Comments: My goal was reasonably priced two channel reproduction. I think I have obtained what I was looking for with the recent additions of the Simaudio gear.
System Strengths: Detailed two channel audio, open, feeling of being in the room with the artists.
System Weaknesses: I think the Hawks, while able to dip down into the lower frequencies, lack a certain bass presence that some recordings demand. I will probably experiment with some sort of musical sub down the road.
Video/HT System: None
