Sources:
CD Player/DAC: NAD Monitor Series 5000 (CD player du jour) with ART DIO DAC
Yamaha CDC-635 changer (Happily serving up the music since 1993 without a hitch)
Turntable/Phono Stage: Dual 1258
Other Source(s): Sansui TU-517 tuner
Yamaha T-1 tuner (for sale)
Sansui TU-217 tuner (for sale)
Dyanco FM-3 tuner (slightly modified)
Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: BFW (Big Fat Wire) 12 ga oxygen free
Room Size (LxWxH): 41 x 18 x 8
Room Comments/Treatments: It's a workshop where I build custom tube amps (guitar and bass) along with custom guitars and basses- it's what I do for a living. It's a terrible room for audio, with its concrete floor and large bulky machines all over the place. I do what I can to make it sound decent, though.
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Hmmm... Rock, Punk, Reggae, Jazz, Alternative/Indy. For example: The Ziggens, Sublime, Charles Mingus, Jaco Pastorius, Ramones, Coltrane, Luscious Jackson, Bargain Music, Half Pint, Yellowman, various blues artists...
System Goals/Comments: It sounds good but I'm on a constant search for a better sounding CD player than my ancient Yamaha. I've tried many but few have been much of an improvement. Rotel sounded great but the one I got was unreliable (having repaired British cars I was not shocked, no pun intended)
System Strengths: Sounds pretty good for such a tough room. Sansui tuner sounds great.
System Weaknesses: Could use a little more power...
Video/HT System: None
Comments on HT System: Video? What's that?

Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: Building tube amps, guitars, dissecting old audio gear, modifying old audio gear, playing with the kids, playing bass in a couple of bands.
