Last Update: May 26, 2000 at 08:09:35 IP Address: 208.178.208.122
Amplifier: McCormack DNA-1 Deluxe
Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): McCormack ALD-1
Speakers: Magnepan 1.6 QR
Sources:
CD Player/DAC: Meridian 508.24
Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: Nordost Red Dawn interconnects and Blue Heaven speaker cables
Other (Power Conditioner, Racks etc.): Zoethecus stand
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Rock, Jazz, Blues
System Goals/Comments: I run my preamp in passive mode, which is why I use the Nordost interconnects (they have the right capacitance and inductance for passive). I'm going for the most neutral sound possible, although I have to admit my system is very laid back right now.
System Strengths: Great soundstaging and imaging (once I got the speakers set up correctly!).
System Weaknesses: Low WAF due to the Maggies. Difficult speaker placement. I worry about the kids knocking the Maggies over.
Video/HT System: Separate
TV/Projector: Tosbiba CX27D60
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: Yamaha RX-V2092
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): Paradigm Monitor 7 mains, Paradigm CC-350 center channel, Paradigm ADP-350 rears, Sunfire True Sub
Sources (DVD/VCR): Toshiba SD-3107 DVD player, Sony SLV-765HF VCR, Sony MDJE510 Minidisc player
Other HT Gear: Marantz RC2000MKII remote, Musical Fidelity DAC (for MD player), Tributaries Silver SCA150 interconnects, Tributaries DCV100 video interconnect, Tributaries SCV100 2m interconnect (sub), Tributaries SP5F speaker wire, Tributaries BP101 banana plugs
Comments on HT System: I desparately need to upgrade my TV. I'm thinking about a 32" SDTV from Panasonic or a Sony XBR400 when they come out.
