Tweaks: Gutted the A1's and replaced the wire with silver wire and went to active crossovers. I replaced the tweeter (a metal dome) with a Vifa D26NC-55-06, much smoother! I used Dynamat on certain places in the transport. The 2 inch shelves sit on super balls.
Room Size (LxWxH): 24 x 16 x 12
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Rock, Country, Jazz, Classical, just about anything!
System Goals/Comments: I wanted a system that projects an accurate image of a band or musician with a feeling of depth and placement. I also wanted to have the dynamics of a live performance.
System Strengths: Has the dynamics of a live performance, thanks to the subs, and the imagining is very good. Depth can be very good with a good CD and voices are excellent. Sound is pretty good at lower levels and wonderful when closer to real SPL's.
System Weaknesses: Some instruments get lost in the crowd of larger symphonies and ambience can lack sometimes as well. I am nit picking though, I am very happy with this system. I have self designed speakers in the works, and perhaps they will bring more of these complaints to an end. But you know it is never really done!
Video/HT System: None
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: I am an ex-landscaper turned stay at home father, cabinet and furniture maker. I have been interested in music and audio equipment for 30 years. I enjoy playing with my kids, scouting, playing on 4 wheelers, boating and landscaping. Woodworking is a passion that has turned semi professional for me, it allows me to live a good fulfilling life, and I am thankful for it.
