Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Exclusively classical; mainly orchestral, chamber and opera
System Goals/Comments: The closest approach I can afford to reality. Regular attendance at concerts by the local Bournemouth Symphony orchestra and by various London orchestras is my reality check.
System Strengths: Clarity, detail, dynamic range. Vinyl sounds best (oh what a surprise) but with the Quad ESLs digital sources are close behind.
System Weaknesses: A slight flatness over the sound that acts as a reminder that this is not the real thing.
Video/HT System: Integrated
TV/Projector: Epson EH-TW 9400 4K 16:9 HD
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: Marantz AV8805 (as above)
Sources (DVD/VCR): Oppo UDP205
Other HT Gear: The Amazon Fire Stick Max 4K streams various channels including BBC iPlayer, Netflix, Prime TV and Berlin Digital Concert Hall
Comments on HT System: I am sure there are better systems but I have not been invited to view any.
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: Classical music in all its forms. Frequent concert and opera goer. Reader of murder mysteries for my light entertainment. Retired from university as Principal Lecturer in Information Systems.
