aggielaw's Evolving System
Last Update: December 22, 2005 at 20:32:58 IP Address: 24.255.10.191
Amplifier: McCormack DNA-125 Platinum
Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): McCormack RLD-1 Platinum
Speakers: nOrh mini 9.0 with Murphy XO
Sources:
CD Player/DAC: Cary 303/300
Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: RSA Poiema!! all around.
Other (Power Conditioner, Racks etc.): APC S10 power conditioner with voltage regulation and battery backup
Room Size (LxWxH): 14 x 17 x 8
Room Comments/Treatments: cinder block exterior walls; long windows on right wall, 'open wall' on the left starting 3' in front of left speaker. It's military housing, so I'm stuck with it for now.
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Rush, soft rock, jazz (not 'smooth jazz'), some pop, country.
System Goals/Comments: Accurate yet 'musical' would be ideal. I have slight hearing loss around 500Hz, so I need some warmth.
System Strengths: Components pretty evenly matched in performance, I think
System Weaknesses: Cabling. Will upgrade cables soon.
Video/HT System: Separate
TV/Projector: Toshiba 36' standard TV
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: Denon AVR-3300
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): Infinity RS-3's (F&R), Infinity CC-3 center, Velodyne CT-120 sub
Sources (DVD/VCR): Both - cheap models.
Other HT Gear: Tivo!
Comments on HT System: I've never explored 'high end' HT, so I don't know what I'm missing, and I like it that way! :) The Army doesn't pay me enough to support my stereo, much less a high-end HT system.
