Amplifier: Rogue Eighty-Eight Tube Amp. The Eighty-Eight can be run in Ultralinear mode for 60 watts per channel, or triode for 35 watts per channel. I run her in triode mode. A more musical experience. And more than enough watts for my Cornwalls. Too many probably.
Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): Conrad Johnson PV-11 Tube Pre-Amp with built in phono stage, and a good one at that.
Speakers: 1986 Klipsch Cornwalls. Sensitivity: 98 db SPL. Suggested Amplifier Rating: 20 WPC. Power Handling: 100 Watts Continuous.
Sources:
CD Player/DAC: Onkyo Integra DX-C730 CD Player. It's better than you might think.
Turntable/Phono Stage: VPI Scout Master with the Peripheral Ring Clamp.
Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: Grover UR Speaker Cables. Monster Cable Interconnects.
Room Comments/Treatments: My listening room is connected to the living room which is directly behind me and the dinning room which is to the right of my system. It sucks but you got to make the best of a bad situation.
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): My favorite band is 'The Who'. Neil Young rules. Johnny Cash is a God. Springsteen is a Jersey Devil. Gene Parsons should have been my drinking buddy. Miles Davis and anyone that played on his albums are Jazz.
System Goals/Comments: The object of this hobby is to have fun. That's my goal and for the most part I'm right on target.
System Strengths: Midrange is awesome.
System Weaknesses: Bass could be better but IMO that's the room's fault. It gets better the louder I turn it up...or the more I drink, which ever comes first.
Video/HT System: None
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: My interests and hobbies are as follows: Music, Fermented Beverage, Mountain Biking, LA Lakers, Cincinnati Reds. I work for a beer distributorship and at one time brewed beer for a brew pub in Santa Barbara, and later on a micro-brewery in Los Olivos California.
