Room Comments/Treatments: carpeted. Right speaker is against the 14 ft wall and 3.5' from the corner. Left speaker is about 3' from the corner. Prime seating is about 10 feet from the speakers.
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Blues/John Lee Hooker, Junior Wells, Magic Slim, Stevie Ray Vaughn Rock/Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, REO Speedwagon, The Kinks and....
System Goals/Comments: I am upgrading my system as money allows. I would like to close my eyes and imagine I am in the room with the artists and by able to place each instrument in the room by ear. I am getting there with my speakers and amp. I need to upgrade my CD transport and maybe the turntable.
System Strengths: The strength is the speakers. The NAD 3020 is said to be the best amp NAD ever made. I am not sure how good it is. My turntable is about 20 years old and just OK. I don't care about the cassette deck because I only use it to make tapes for the car.
System Weaknesses: In order: turntable
Video/HT System: Separate
TV/Projector: Toshiba CT32V51
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: Pioneer VSX D608
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): Audio Research AR318PS fronts, Audio Research C225PS center, Infinity Minuette Theater pack surrounds JBL ARC SUB 10" 75W
Sources (DVD/VCR): Sony HiFi Stereo VCR model SLV798HF
Toshiba DVD player model SD1200
Other HT Gear: none
Comments on HT System: It sounds really good. The weakness is the PSW. I live in an apartment building so I do not need any more volume but it cracks and shuts down periodically. After doing so it starts up again after a minute or two.
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: Music, fishing, travel
