Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): EAR 864 Preamp, phono input on MM setting. Tubes: 4 x ECC83, 1 x ECC81
Speakers: Magnaplanar 3.3R's. 4 ohm input impedance

CD Player/DAC: Old Pioneer PDS901 CD Player. Rarely used
Turntable/Phono Stage: AVID Acutus turntable, SME V tonearm, Koetsu Onyx Platinum phono cartridge
Other Source(s): Ancient Technics Analog FM Tuner
Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: Old Monster speaker cables feeding 8 to 4 ohm stepdown autotransformers.
Other (Power Conditioner, Racks etc.): Turntable sits on a low, spiked, aluminum frame table topped with a granite slab
Tweaks: The valve gear is powered up through a variac to reduce the turn on surge
Room Size (LxWxH): 5.7M x 6M x 2.7M
Room Comments/Treatments: The room is open plan and has 2 connecting alcoves to help breakup bass standing waves
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): 19/20th Century classical, 50/early 60's jazz, 70/80's light alternative rock
System Goals/Comments: Enjoyable and musical, with a clean, detailed lifelike sound
System Strengths: Great upper bass and midrange pressence
System Weaknesses: Speakers have no bass under 30Hz and upper treble slightly rolled off.
