Amplifier: Tivoli Model 3 clock radio.
Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): None
Speakers: Tivoli Model 3 10 watt internally powered 'shaped full range' 3 inch, [+stereo box] with Tivoli self-powered seperate woofer.
Sources:
CD Player/DAC: Intel iMac for streaming audio and drives. Usb out to non-oversampling, passive out, Scott Nixon UsbChibiDac.
Turntable/Phono Stage: I had a Rega, Townsend and EAR rig, I wish I had space... Perhaps an analog rig to record Lps to Digital...
Other Source(s): Tivoli FM tuner section. 3rd. Gen. iPod.
Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: Custom unshielded Zu cable Pivot-mini.
Other (Power Conditioner, Racks etc.): I avoid power conditioners. Every time I've heard them they seem to hurt (slow) more then help. My desktop.
Tweaks: None.
Room Size (LxWxH): 16' x 14' x 10' ?
Room Comments/Treatments: Never heard anything other then rugs, pillows, and plush stuff really help, Comfy room=comfy listening.
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Mozart, Carlos Kleiber conducting anything, Robert Johnson, Electric and Harp Blues, Sun Records, Cambodian Rock, Joy Division, Punk, Sex Pistols, Clash, Motorhead, Chemical Brothers, Timo Maas, Goa - Psych Trance....
System Goals/Comments: Present the construction and at the same time drive the point of the music (be Naim like.) Liquidity. Grab me. Midrange first. A launch from a black space. Keep a beat.
System Strengths: Surprisingly decent, reveals the sound of the source and chain. Can be nice or nasty. Rolls off very nicely top and bottom. Silly fun really for price. Designed by a tube man from when thats all there really was. Late at night listening to an old FM radio...
System Weaknesses: Small area coverage, I expect it to get better with break-in, and more then my self-restrained volume. No tubes, not analog, desktop placement, it is what it is.
Video/HT System: Integrated
TV/Projector: Panasonic flat screen CRT
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: Time Warner Digital DVR Box, couldn't live without it.
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): TVs'
Sources (DVD/VCR): X-BOX
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: I am an Artist, I use cameras. 30-40 yr. old Leicaflex SL with current 35mm Summicron, 50 yr. old Voightlander Bessa II color-skopar (the Mercedes of its time and type.) Printing is mostly from color negative optically by a specialized custom lab here in N.Y.C. Some digital may be done thru iPhoto. I upgrade Photoshop but I have never learned it. I am constantly tempted by the digital approach to photo.
