Room Comments/Treatments: Fabric wall tapestry (approx, 4ft. x 4ft.) on the back wall behind the speakers. Speakers 3 feet out from the wall, 7ft apart, with a slight toe in.
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Contemporary jazz-favorite is Norman Brown, and also some Acoustic Alchemy. Also like some flamenco in Oscar Lopez and some 80's pop rock.
System Goals/Comments: Full range, deep soundstage, tight imaging, clarity and resolution, tight accurate bass. Compactness of equipment.
System Strengths: Clarity and resolution, the image just floats in front of me apart from the speakers. Great separation of elements allows me to pick out one instrument or background singer and follow it very easily in the midst of everything else. Once correct placement and adjustment was found for the sub, it is very tight and integrates well and gives the atthority and foundation I like with the qualities of planar speakers I enjoy very much.
System Weaknesses: Narrow sweet spot. Maggies are ultra picky about placement and can alter the sound greatly depeneding on toe in, distance from boundaries and acoustic absorbtion. Can sound hard with nothing behind the speakers because of wall reflections.

Velodyne HGS-10, I move it from my 2-channel system for parties for LFE channel in the HT setup.
Sources (DVD/VCR): Onkyo SV-501 DVD player
Sony SLV-765 VCR
Onkyo TA-RW544 dual tape deck
Onkyo DX-C330, six CD carousel player
Other HT Gear: Panamax 1000+ surge protector
Sennheiser DSP Pro
Monster MCX-2 cable for mains, Original 12g Monster for all other speakers. AudioQuest digital cable
Infinity Overture 1 stands
Atlantic CD/VHS/DVD media rack
Comments on HT System: My priority and main interest is my 2-channel. This setup is compact and attractive and the Overture speakers have a warm character which I like for HT, as to not rip your head off. THX for Pro-Logic and Re-Eq for DD was also a big plus for me. I tried to plan for the future without being on the bleeding edge and adopting uncertain technologies. For me, HT is for get togethers, I don't want to go crazy about it, but I don't want to have to apologize to my guests either.
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: Cycling, Macs, Graphic Designer by day
