Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Favorites - Niel Young, Doors, Stevie Nicks. 70's & 80's rock.
System Goals/Comments: Easy and enjoyable to listen. Looking at upgrading speakers to Vandersteen 1C or Maggie MMG.
System Strengths: More than enough power
System Weaknesses: Amp/pre has a little hiss with no volume. Not audible from listening position, but I know it's there.
Video/HT System: Separate
TV/Projector: Optoma H31
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: Harman Kardon AVR 247, Carver M-500 for front L&R, Acurus A200x3 for center & rears
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): Paradigm Mini-Monitors v.5, CC290 v.5, and Advent Black Pearls for rears.
Sources (DVD/VCR): Toshiba HD DVD A2, Motorola HD DVR, Mitsubishi U51 VCR (circa 1992, excellent vcr)
Other HT Gear: Velodyne DSP3750 sub
Comments on HT System: Adding another M-500 for the center, or upgrading to a 5 channel amp in the near future. The HK is excellent for theater, but a huge disappointment for music. The external amplification really brings life to the reciever and speakers.
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: Hunting, clay shooting, woodworking, cars (restoring, painting, racing, etc)
