MiltoiD 's It's not still the 80 System
IP Address: 70.218.45.247 Last Update: August 15, 2008 at 18:35:08
Amplifier: B&K Reference 200.2 S2 (Borrowed)
Bryston 2B-LP (not quite enough current for Acoustats)
Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): Sonic Frontiers Line 1 SE
Speakers: Acoustat Spectra 11 (until I get around to getting my ESL-63's fixed)
Sources:
CD Player/DAC: Theta Data III (on Seismic Sink of course)
Audio Alchemy DTI32
Musical Fidelity X-24-K (Borrowed while I search for the next hot deal)
Turntable/Phono Stage: Kenwood KD-550 (the "concrete table")
Linn Basik LV X (free take-off from a client)
Ortophon MC-25FL
Perraux SXV1 (Got a hellava deal on it)
Other Source(s): Denon DVD-3910 (for SACD & HDCD)
Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: Speakers - Kimber 4PR (left over from 80's)
Interconnects - Mostly Home Brew - Always Neutrik connectors
Other (Power Conditioner, Racks etc.): Power Conditioning - whatever's back from warranty service this week...
Salamander Rack - 40+20 - (really annoying to have to stand on chair to work ttable...)
Tweaks: Left over Salamander feet under back of speakers to lean them forward 10 degrees so I don't need a high chair to listen.
Room Size (LxWxH): 13' x 17' x 9'
Room Comments/Treatments: Speakers not actually designed for near field listening...Room not such a problem due to dipole speakers...Room un-rectangular enough to make modes not serious issue... could use some diffusion behind me...
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): No Hip Hop Please
Anything else goes.
If pushed, will admit affinity for progressive rock...
System Goals/Comments: Really would like to actually hear my ESL-63/SW-63 system set up some day...
Oh yeah, then there's the SOTA Nova/ET2 I need to finish putting together one of these days. Guess I should spend less time listening to music.
System Strengths: It's paid for. It usually works.
System Weaknesses: I don't have enough toys yet.
Video/HT System: Integrated
TV/Projector: Princeton AF3.0HD (except I think it just lunched the HV supply, bother)
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: B&K Reference 30 (would you believe I gotta hellova deal...)
Carver C-9 Sonic Holocaust Generator (sorry)
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): See above. Don't need 'em (as long as I hold my head real still).
Sources (DVD/VCR): Denon DVD-3910
Toshiba HD-XA1 (free customer take-out)
Samsung BD-P1000 (ditto, worth every penny)
Theta Data III (you remember laserdisc, don't you?)
JVC HR-S9911U (in emergency break glass, remove video tape, insert into slot)
Sony Beta Hi-Fi (okay, it's in the closet, but it worked the last time I tried it)
Other HT Gear: IdeaLume 6500K Reading Light
Comments on HT System: Okay, one of these days I'll get around to that part, but I work on surround systems every day. Sometimes your brain needs a rest...
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: Recovering Audio Retailer. Remember the RA mantra: "I will not close sales based only on discounts".
