blair 's Living Room System
IP Address: 216.164.61.172 Last Update: June 28, 2009 at 09:43:59
Amplifier: Onkyo A-8190
Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): None
Speakers: Advent
Sources:
CD Player/DAC: Mac iBook built-in audio
Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: cheap Radio Shack
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Folk, Rock, Alternative, Classical
System Goals/Comments: Want to be able to control iTunes and volume without getting off couch. Want easier integration of DVR and amp (currently only watch TV with TV's built-in speaker.)
System Strengths: Not sure which component gets the credit, but I love the sound in my living room, warm, enveloping, present, the opposite of fatiguing.
System Weaknesses: In anything besides CD Direct, the Onkyo only has one working channel. No remote control for volume of Onkyo. The bubble-looking-thing of the middle speaker of one of the Advents is pushed in.
Video/HT System: Integrated
TV/Projector: Sony WEGA trinitron 27inch - KV-27FS12
