3. Flagstone isolation platform for turntable.

4. Speakers bungie-corded to stands.

5. Subwoofer amp being driven by headphone preamp (sub output is too low when using regular pre-outs).

Room Size (LxWxH): 16 x 15 x 10
Room Comments/Treatments: Old house with wood floors and high ceilings.
Entire end wall where speakers are is a bay window.
One side wall has large open thruway to foyer, with only a curtain to close off the room.
12' from speakers to main listening position.
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): '80's rock (INXS, U2, Cure, etc.)

techno (Chemical Brothers, Infected Mushroom)

folk/roots

jazz (Bluesiana, kd lang)

chamber music
System Goals/Comments: This system sounds quite good and is just about perfect for the size room it is in.

Have achieved my tonal balance and fidelity goals.

But I really need to replace the sub EQ with a better one or get a "real" subwoofer.
System Strengths: 1) sounds very good, especially realistic on vocal, folk, and jazz music

2) Dead silent background and nice long fades (when not using subs)

2) Value. The complete system was around $3900.
System Weaknesses: 1) Hum and noise from subwoofer EQ

2) could be more convincing on full scale classical music

3) limited absolute maximum volume and impact.

3) imaging isn't the best--mostly due to speaker placement and seating position; I think.
Video/HT System: Separate
TV/Projector: LG 32" 720p LCD (2011)
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: Radio Shack Accurian Integrated
25w rms at 8 ohms
freq resp = 50-20
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): Mains:
Sony SS-MB100H mini monitors
5" woofer, 1" tweeter
8 ohms
87 dB
freq = 80-50
Sources (DVD/VCR): Roku 3 (2014)

Gateway laptop

Sony DVD/HiFi VCR combo
Comments on HT System: The main media computer in the stereo sends HDMI to the TV.
So the TV is the display for the main system when playing digital music files or streaming.

Otherwise, the TV system is completely separate from the main system and does not use main amps, speakers or subs.
