System Goals/Comments: | I'll know when it gets there... |
System Strengths: | The system provides a very clean and precise sound, yet is very musical with little to no harsh edges. Adapts pretty well to a wide range of music and recordings. |
System Weaknesses: | With the move into ATC speakers powered by Pass Labs amplification, the sound has really come into shape. Without hearing some of the nicer, optimized systems that are out there, it's hard for me to judge what the weaknesses of the system are. Room acoustics could, of course, always be addressed...if I only knew where to start. |
Video/HT System: Integrated | |
TV/Projector: | Yamaha LPX-500 Projector; plugged into PS Audio Ultimate Outlet w/ Signal cable power cords |
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: | Primare SP 31.7; L & R main output runs through the unity gain/HT pass-through on the Pass Labs pre-amp; Pass Labs X3 amplifier powers center channel and rear surround speakers |
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): | ATC SCM20 Center(center); ATC SCM 7(surrounds); Rel Strata III subwoofer (for music and HT) |
Sources (DVD/VCR): | JVC S-VHS video cassette deck, Camelot Roundtable MKII |
Other HT Gear: | Da-Lite 106' projection screen |
Comments on HT System: | The projector sits at the back of the room, connected to the video sources by long video cable runs. The screen is a pull down, mounted in the ceiling with a position that centers it between the main speakers. It has gone from a relatively humble beginning to it's current state. The combo of the (very) nice Primare processor with the ATC speakers and Pass Lab amplification is pretty darn special sounding IMHO. |
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: | Fine food & beverage, films, playing drums, Polish movie posters, outdoor activities. |
