IP Address: 80.189.73.151 Last Update: February 28, 2013 at 11:33:01
Amplifier: Valve SET amp using 45 triode, a 'lashup' built on an old 300B chassis; James OPTs; 1.8 WPC. Built as a temp way to try the 45! No going back to the 300B set ....
Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): 'Sonya' Valve pre using 27 triode
Speakers: DIY MTM bass reflex using excellent SEAS ER18RNX bass/mid and 27TDFC tweeter; designed, modelled, measured and tweaked for SET amp (and it worked)
Sources:
CD Player/DAC: Astin Trew AT3500+ with op amp upgrade and Mullard CV2493 valve.
Turntable/Phono Stage: Teres (acrylic/lead platter), Verus motor; Moerch DP-8 12 inch arm; Zyx 4D cartridge. DIY valve phono stage 'Elle' using 6AN4 and 6072 with E83F active loads.
Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: ICs are DIY Belden 89259.
Good biwire speaker cables.
Room Size (LxWxH): 18 ft x 14 ft x 8 ft

System Strengths: Superb tonality from both sources.
Transparency without harshness.
Natural sound.
Good dynamics (yes, with a mere 1.8 WPC).
Plays all kinds of music very well.
Superb vinyl front end, amazing.
Superb CD front end, surprisingly close to lp.
Ability to move me to tears!
System Weaknesses: Not a lot.
Bass could be somewhat better and it might matter if I were into solid rock music.
Video/HT System: None
