Room Size (LxWxH): | 24' x 14' x 12' |
Room Comments/Treatments: | Tile floor on concrete slab, area rugs and wall hangings absorb reflections. Walls are concrete block with drywall and quite stiff. The room is asymmetrical, open at one end with a corner cut off at the opposite end. This minimizes comb filtering. |
Music Preferences and Comments: | |
Music Used (Genre/Selections): | Jazz: pre-jazz, trad, swing, bop, hard bop, Classical sometimes. |
System Goals/Comments: | Near Grade A. Vinyl is principle focus. A lot of cartridges, favorite is Soundsmith Hyperion. The Luxman D-10X sounds quite good even on older Redbook CDs. |
System Strengths: | Newest cj up-grades made a big difference in presence. The subs made a notable improvement. Sound and feel are palpable on good recordings. |
System Weaknesses: | A bigger sound room would make the most difference. We have a house with a better room, but it is in NH and I don't want the winters and I don't have the money to duplicate this system for what is our summer house. |
Video/HT System: None | |
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: | Cycling, kayaking, history (US and German). Retired. |
