Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): | Classical, rock, jazz, and basically anything that doesn't need Autotune |
System Goals/Comments: | I have 14 Neo 8 drivers that I'll be using to upgrade the midrange of the Tympanis. Ultimately it will be triamped with DSP for crossovers and drivers and room correction. |
System Strengths: | Triiamped and in split configuration, the IVA's have an uncanny planar naturalism to them but the slam and bass extension needed for movies and rock |
System Weaknesses: | Still a diamond in the rough -- I have to modify the midrange, add more room treatment, set up Acourate, and add surround |
Video/HT System: Separate
TV/Projector: | Acer H6510BD 3D 1080P DLP projector |
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: | Audio system does double duty |
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): | Audio system does double duty |
Sources (DVD/VCR): | HTPC (see above) |
Other HT Gear: | Monoprice 106" motorized screen |
Comments on HT System: | Inexpensive DLP projectors aren't the last word in color fidelity, but with a few tweaks the image is spectacular nonetheless. If I could have anything it would be a larger screen -- but I'd need a short throw projector for that. Someday. |
