spacedeckman's 2 Channel System System
Last Update: April 18, 2007 at 21:01:49 IP Address: 63.81.55.194
Amplifier: Bryston 3BSST or Parasound HCA750A as "back-up", Accusonic DB200 driving Stax 'phones
Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): Audioprism Mantissa...2 years to find it, now it's mine.
Speakers: Audiovector M1 Signatures, Stax SR3a 'phones
Sources:
CD Player/DAC: Arcam CD72
Turntable/Phono Stage: VPI Scout/JPW9, Benz Ace, Sutherland PH2000
Other Source(s): Yamaha CX-1 DVD Changer (25 lbs, Burr Browns, bass from hell, dynamics to match)
Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: Dual run of Kimber 4TC, Homebrew CAT5 interconnects.
Other (Power Conditioner, Racks etc.): Target D-5 and B-4 racks, Target VF-1 Amp rack, Target HR60 speaker stands, Accusonic is on homebrew 'sand isolation' box with spikes into floor.
Tweaks: Audioprism 'balls' under CD player, Isolation shelf under Scout, two layers of 3/4 MDF with Dynamat in between, non setting caulk on the non-stick side of the Dynamat.
Room Comments/Treatments: My room is about as bad as they get. Have to suffer until I get a new house.
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Rock, Jazz, Classical
System Goals/Comments: Start assembling a well balanced, potent system when I do get a decent room
System Strengths: Overall balance between being 'lush' and 'overly warm', huge soundstage, tonal balance. It is now a highly musical system I hate to turn off.
System Weaknesses: The room.
Video/HT System: None
