HiFi_1's Short but sweeet. System
Last Update: January 07, 2002 at 11:11:20 IP Address: 142.204.30.196
Amplifier: Bryston B-60-R integrated amplifier
@ 60wpc. (rated)
Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): None
Speakers: Paradigm Reference Studio 40's, version 2

Two Paradigm PW-2200 powered subwoofers (one per channel), Ported 12" sub @ 250wpc. (rated)
Sennheiser HD-580 headphones.

Sources:
CD Player/DAC: Rega Planet CD player.
Turntable/Phono Stage: None.......yet.
Other Source(s): Yamaha EQ-70 10 bands per channel.(only for tape deck)
Yamaha KXW-382 Dual well cassette deck.
Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: Monster Cable "CD" interconnect, .5m
(Between Rega and Bryston.)
Decca Cable (unknown type)Bi-wire speaker cable, dual 8 foot runs per channel.
Assorted inexpensive Monster and Ultralink cable throughout the rest of my system.
Other (Power Conditioner, Racks etc.): Chang Lightspeed CLS-3200 power line conditioner.
Room Size (LxWxH): 12' x 10' x 8'
Room Comments/Treatments: Assorted natural rear diffusion.(mainly books on shelves) Some side wall absorption using acoustical foam.
I am very limited for placement and treatments because of the lack of space in my tiny bedroom.
My speakers only just miss getting tipped over every time someone enters the room, but better sound beats greater convenience any day!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Many genres of music are enjoyed, mainly older rock(eg.Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin),
blues, and electronica(eg. Massive Attack). I am also an amateur classical fan.
System Goals/Comments: All of the above mentioned interconnects will be upgraded in the near future, $ permitting.
System Strengths: Wide soundstage which stretches beyond my side walls. Accurate midrange.
System Weaknesses: The soundstage has very little depth of image, and treble is often overly bright. This, i'm sure, is caused not by my equipment but by my SMALL room which currently has little sound absorption on the side walls and no treatment behind the speakers.
Video/HT System: Integrated
TV/Projector: Citizen 13" T.V.(yes only 13 inches)
(Very ancient Christmas gift)
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: Integrated with my home stereo.
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): Same as above.
Sources (DVD/VCR): Marantz MV-830 S-VHS VCR
Comments on HT System: I currently have little interest in home theater, though I am deeply interested in future HDTV(in my area we only receive tape looped demo's and the very rare late night broadcast.) and "HD" DVD.
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: I am currently enrolled in a local college where I am studying Electrical Engineering, Communications (Fiber optics, audio and video transmission formats.)This expense is the only thing keeping me from filling up more of these spaces. :(
