Ivan303's Main system in the Casa System
IP Address: 73.242.169.18 Last Update: December 09, 2023 at 18:54:13
Amplifier: Ayre AX-7e integrated amp.
Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): None
Speakers: Joseph Audio 'Pulsar' stand mounts, Sound Anchor stands
Sources:
CD Player/DAC: dCS Network Bridge streaming QOBUZ, TIDAL and music from a HD off a Mac Mini via UPnP over ethernet

Gustard R226 Chi-Fi R2R ladder DAC (not bad).

Marantz DV-9600 multi-disk player

Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: dCS Network Bridge to DAC via CARDAS AES/EBU

DAC > Amp: Cardas 'Clear Cygnus' XLR interconnects

Amp > Speakers Cardas 'Clear Sky X4' speaker cables

Router to dCS Network Bridge CertiCable Cat 8
Other (Power Conditioner, Racks etc.): Lucky to have my own private utility transformer sitting at the street with about 250 ft. of power cable underground to the meter on the side of the house.

Also have a grid-tied solar panel system on the roof and who knows what that's doing?
Room Size (LxWxH): 34 ft x 16 ft x 9 ft
Room Comments/Treatments: Room is a very long (34 ft. x 16 ft. wide) with the kitchen at one end, breakfast 'banco' at the other and family room with audio/TV/Everything in the middle in built-ins along one long wall leaving a 9 ft. 'near-field' listening distance from the speakers fronts located 3 ft. off that long wall beside the built in cabinets and 4 ft. behind the listening position with a book case behind that.

Not ideal but seems to work surprisingly well with the new Joseph Audio 'Pulsars' spaced about eight feet apart and towed in.

Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Used a lot streaming over TV though, be it Live at the Met, Berlin Concert Hall or (horrors) Lo-Fi YouTube.
System Goals/Comments: Not many yet
System Strengths: The Ayre AX7e integrated amp seems to work well with the Joseph Audio stand-mount speakers very comfortably in the current 'kind of near-field' setup.

Balanced all the way seems to work in this system

Imaging is spectacular.

Joseph Audio claims that the Pulsars are the 'Worlds Best Stand-Mount Speaker' and while that's a bit over the top as a claim, it's hard for me to imagine better, at least in my current system.
System Weaknesses: Could fill the room with large orchestra recordings a bit better but for stand mount speakers (no sub) it does better than one would expect.

Video/HT System: None
TV/Projector: You're kidding, right?
