Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Classical/Female jazz vocalists
System Goals/Comments: D5 to SE? Or go SACD, no idea what to do yet, so I'll do nothing because I'm good as hell at it.
System Strengths: Good soundstage, liquid mids, does large scale classical well.
System Weaknesses: Have to move those heavy speakers each time I get serious about listening. Not enough LED's pulsing with the beat of the music. I'm sure there's a few others, but if I admit it, then I'd have to start doing something about them.
Video/HT System: Separate
TV/Projector: Toshiba Cinema Series 61" RPTV
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: Yamaha DSP A1 and NAD 214 for surrounds
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): Paradigm Studio 80's for mains and surrounds, CC450 Center, In wall for front effects, 2 Velodyne HGS 10's
Sources (DVD/VCR): Toshiba 5109 progressive scan DVD, JVC 7500 S-VHS.
Other HT Gear: MSB Link, Philips Pronto RC Monster HT 3500
Comments on HT System: Dedicated HT room, 18X14X11, Everything (TV, speakers, equipment) built in with access to rear from another room, Lights and fan remote controlled, Large leather couch and ottomans seat eight comfortably, sound and picture are both quite good, making the HT a kick to watch a movie in.
