Robert S's My system System
Last Update: February 26, 2007 at 21:43:13 IP Address: 24.132.83.109
Amplifier: Audio Note Conquests 18w SET monoblocks

replaced ASL Hurricanes - 200w, push/pull valve design. Hurricanes replaced Monarchy SM-70 monoblocks.

Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): Jadis JP30 (with mm phonostage) replaced a Sphinx Project 2 Mk 2.
Speakers: Audio Note AN-E/SPe speakers replaced Vienna Acoustics Beethovens
Sources:
CD Player/DAC: AH Tjoeb cdp with Philips Gold Pin E288CC tubes
Turntable/Phono Stage: Nottingham Analogue Spacedeck and a Moerch UP-4 arm.

Cartridgeman MusicMaker (MM 4mv) replaced a low output (0.5mv) Grado Sonata. MM phonostage of Jadis JP30 replaced a Lehmann Black Cube

Other Source(s): none
Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: Siltech LS 38 G3 speakercable replaced Harmonic Tech Pro-9. TCI Viper cabling with van den Hul plugs came with Moerch--tt to preamp phonostage; Siltech SQ 80 G3 (pre to monoblocks); Siltech SQ 56 G3 (cd to pre); Siltechs ST 18 G3s, and a van den Hul D102 Mk III hanging around for the moment.
Other (Power Conditioner, Racks etc.): Put my tt on a wall-mounted shelf--essential given bouncy floors--and added a Neuance shelf under the tt.
Tweaks: None worth mentioning
Room Size (LxWxH): 20 x 14 x 8.5
Room Comments/Treatments: Windows on both ends, tendency towards brightness. Carpet on floor, some couches, shelving with vinyl and cds.
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): 75% classical, baroque through 19th c, individual voices and instruments to opera and symphony. 20% jazz; 5% misc. Just about entirely vinyl listening for the past few years.
System Goals/Comments: New system--still in process.
System Strengths: SET amplification with matching speakers has changed the system in some excellent ways, but still being set up.
System Weaknesses: I'll think about weaknesses in a while.
Video/HT System: None
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: Fanatical about my dog (a Staffordshire Bull Terrier), and he never messes with my wires or equipment.
