Other (Power Conditioner, Racks etc.): Oak tower rack.
Tweaks: nothing special
Room Size (LxWxH): 24 x 14 x 8
Room Comments/Treatments: Fake trees in the corners as diffusers, vertical blinds behind maggies
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Celtic insturmental, Show tunes, enka, anime soundtracks, Indian classical, Middle Eastern, chamber, folk, Native American, and just about anything but rap, country or metal.
System Goals/Comments: Clean sound and ability to shift to any format
System Strengths: vocals, strings, piano, Sitar, etc.
System Weaknesses: Doesn't do rock all that well (not like my brother's Altec horn system anyway, but then his system isn't as good at my usual fare). Too tempting to tweek things by constantly changing the speaker placement (some recordings like some toe-in, some don't). Want more ability to tweak "off" recordings... maybe add something like an Ultracurve), and the thing keeps growing, despite the lack of money to do what I want to it.
Video/HT System: Integrated
TV/Projector: JVC 48WP74 widescreen rptv, component to DVD players, composite to reciever for the few tapes I watch, s-video to cable box
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: 2ch system is the front of my HT system. Yamaha RX-V995 acts as a pre-amp decoder and drives MMG rear speakers
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): 2ch system is the front of my HT system, use phantom center and Maggie MMGs for rears
Sources (DVD/VCR): Pioneer Elite DV-37 dvd player
Panasonic XP-30 region-free progressive scan.
Other HT Gear: none
Comments on HT System: If only I could afford a wall aized plasma display ^-^
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: Reading (mostly non-fiction), audio, anime & manga, geology, Eastern religions and history, photography, web surfing, foreign films, collecting minerals and fossils, etc. / BAL CICS programmer
