Last Update: August 06, 2001 at 12:01:28 IP Address: 24.69.78.127
Amplifier: My DIY Son of Zen power amp
Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): Currently in the making of Nelson Pass's Balance Line Stage pre-amp (also a converter)
Speakers: Klipschorns - also on order
Sources:
CD Player/DAC: HHB CDR-850+
One serious balance line CD player / recorder
Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: DIY Chris Venhaus CAT5e - 8 foot long speaker cable
Delco "Star Quad" internconnects - all for balanced XLR
Room Size (LxWxH): 35 x 30 x 10
Room Comments/Treatments: Currently in the workings. System not all put together yet.
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Everything but country music, hip-hop, and dance. Preference is instrumental guitar
System Goals/Comments: Achieving 128db in a home environment - concert level loudness BUT with only the clarity of high end sound.
System Strengths: NO HUMM or HISS no matter what volume level.
System Weaknesses: The Son of Zen amp has a low dampening factor so it is not suited for a sub woofer amp.
Video/HT System: None
