Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Classical/Jazz/Rock/Blues
System Goals/Comments: Currently running the "Western Electric" preamp (modern rebuild using old parts, remotely controlled volume) to the Western Electric rebuild amp (i.e., fully 600 ohm transformer coupled)--most of the open, transparent and lively sound of my SET amp, but with more fleshed out bass.
System Strengths: Clarity and realistic dynamics of horn-based systems
System Weaknesses: Lack of very deep bass response (who cares?)
Video/HT System: Separate
TV/Projector: 70" Qualia rear projection (SXRD chipset-- version of LCOS technology)
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: Yamaha DSP-1 and 4 KEF surround speakers used for sound system only (not hooked up to TV)
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): None
Sources (DVD/VCR): Pioneer laser disc player
Pioneer Elite DV-47A DVD player
Comments on HT System: Not into home theater sound. Looking to upgrade RPTV set in the future (hoping Sony introduces Qualia RPTV)
