Last Update: June 21, 2001 at 01:59:53 IP Address: 24.20.31.196
Amplifier: Eico HF81 Integrated Amp / 14 wpc
Scott 222C Integrated Amp / 22 wpc
Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): None.
Speakers: a/d/s S700
Sources:
CD Player/DAC: dbx DX2 CD player with onboard compressor, Dynamic Audio Impact Recovery (DAIR, which reminds me of CHUD) and ambience expander. Another of its charms is an occassional skipping tantrum.
Turntable/Phono Stage: Ground humming Dual 510 manual TT so I don't bother...hey is its Shure V15 cartridge worth anything?
Other Source(s): 1965 Fender Mustang (naw just foolin got a Super Reverb for that screamer).
Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: Ace Hardware 35 cents a foot "speaker wire." They-came-with-the-dbx CD player-intercontects.
Other (Power Conditioner, Racks etc.): Straght into the wall outlet-nuthin between PG&E 'n me.
Tweaks: Well, it ain't broke so I ain't fixin it.
Room Size (LxWxH): Not x Too x Big
Room Comments/Treatments: Keep speakers 3 or 4 feet or more away from corners and walls.
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Blues
Classical: chamber music, baroque, Mozart, romantic bombast, even weirdo 20th century stuff.
2 guitars, bass and drums rock
Jazz, late 40's-late 60's.
System Goals/Comments: Got a toob itch a few weeks ago, never got off my butt and got everthing I needed off ebay. Goal was good sound and I got GREAT sound. Toobs are for real baby better believe it! Mission accomplished.
System Strengths: Involving, musical, rewards active listening.
System Weaknesses: Could be louder with a better impedance and sensitivity match between speakers and amps, but I wasn't going for LOUD anyway.
Video/HT System: Integrated
TV/Projector: Sony 32" XBR
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: Sony G1ES HT Pro Logic Receiver (one of the most eggcentric consumer electronics gizmos ever).80/80/80/20/20 watts.
Pioneer A-27 integrated amp, slumming in dedicated duty to powering subs (120 wpc).
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): ADS L810 mains, cheapo Sony center and surround speakers, Boston Acoustics THX 500(?) subs (2 of them subs).
Sources (DVD/VCR): Panasonic DVD 110. Mitsubushi VCR.
Other HT Gear: Pile all that junk on a Target stand.
Comments on HT System: Good and loud enough, I've spent enough and I'm satisifed enough.
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: Guitars, especially Fender Telecasters.
