Stands: two aged (farm scrap) 29" high, 10"deep and 8" wide red oak beams w/arrow filed points as feet

Turntable/Phono Stage: Acoustic Research (AR) model XA
tweaks: motor upgrade, dampened plinth & platter. Formula 4 tonearm Grado Gold cartridgw w/DIY cardas DIN-RCA-.99999 silver 24 guage interconnct w/LAT International RCA plugs.

Tweaks: DIY acrylic-sorbothane-arrow points isolation stands for CD player and amp

DIY acrylic puck-sorbothane-arrow point feet for stand

Sorbothane sheets between speaker and speaker stand top. Feet of speaker stands rest on sorbothane underlain by cork (so they can slide along the wood floor when moved)

Music Used (Genre/Selections): joe jackson, lyle lovett, Morphine, & Cowboy Junkies, Nick Lowe, Ry Cooder, Clapton
System Goals/Comments: If you're a newbie wondering if an upgrade is worth it, I now say yes. Ask me if I can help. In 2 yrs I upgraded an NAD reciever to a Roksan Caspian integrated. Put a vinyl system together. Changed from B&W 602's to Spendor S-1's, and Marantz to Arcam (see below). Also greatly improved rack & stands
System Strengths: Upgraded from Marantz CD63 to Arcam FMJ CD23.

WOW! Detailed, natural, & great soundstage.

Still, the vinly sounds spectacular.

System Weaknesses: room dimensions, I'm likely going to insert the bottlehead.com foreplay preamp to bypass the Caspian's preamp stage.
