Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Folk, classic rock, some alternative, some classical, some jazz
System Goals/Comments: I am a poor audio engineering student

All I want is to listen to good two channel music, and I am a firm believer that less is more.

To me music is about an experience, and although I firmly believe that paying more might get you more, I also believe there is a limit, and that limit becomes compromised when listening ceases to be an experience but becomes a quest (IMHO).

I play with cables, components, and frequency settings all day, when I come home I turn my system on and just want to experience music.

System Strengths: Simplicity.

I like Marantz because they have great sound and I can usually afford their products.

System Weaknesses: Although I love the sound of the Klipsch speakers my engineering friends and teachers are constantly telling me about the flaws of horns. I may reconsider these some day.

The Yamaha 5 disc is nice for background music, but I need the Marantz SA-14 for primary listening.

Video/HT System: Integrated
TV/Projector: 20" Flat screen Toshiba
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: See above
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): None
Sources (DVD/VCR): Basic Sony VHS.
No DVD.
Other HT Gear: None
Comments on HT System: I want DVD because it looks great, but I will probably wait for more Indie Films.
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: Hiking, writing, driving.
