Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: DIY cat5 speaker wire (3 foot run from amp to crossover).

kimber pbj interconnect from preamp to poweramps.

canare interconnect from phono to preamp.

Other (Power Conditioner, Racks etc.): homebuilt turntable support.
enjoythemusic alignment protracter. bubble level, spl meter.
Room Size (LxWxH): 15 x 12 x 9
Room Comments/Treatments: needs more dampening in the mids. needs to be bigger.
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): mid-century jazz (miles, monk, rollins, etc.) modern techno and electronica, african, classical, some newer rock artists like radiohead, beck. old stuff like hendrix, elvis costello, some floyd, old stones. some hip hop. reggae.
System Goals/Comments: aiming for realistic dynamics, lifelike sonic resolution and detail, high level of musical involvement.
would like to upgrade turntable and cartridge for even more information from the disc. would like to build some stepped attenuators for my power amps.
System Strengths: great dynamics and impact even at lower listening levels. lots of revealing detail. fairly neutral sound. bad recordings sound bad. good recordings sound good, whatever the type of music.
original pressings of some great music!
can reproduce live sound pressure levels - great for jazz. very full range coverage.
wide sweet spot due to dispersion pattern of midrange horns.
System Weaknesses: cd player lacks depth and vitality. only seems to suit certain types of music (electronic mostly, some classical) subsequently not used much.
room is a bit lively, could use some more stuff to damp the sound which would improve imaging. a thick rug would be a good start, but pets, ya know...
system has a bit of a rise around between 7 and 10kHz when sitting in listening position. not too troublesome really as it's not a spike but a fairly smooth bump. standing in listening position eliminates this rise.
Video/HT System: None
