Last Update: November 11, 2002 at 14:24:25 IP Address: 63.214.77.68
Amplifier: Sansui 4000 (45 wpc) receiver
Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): None
Speakers: Original Large Advent (Speaker A)
Genesis Physics Model I (Speaker B)
(both pairs generally run in parallel)
Sources:
CD Player/DAC: Sony CA9ES
Other Source(s): Power Macintosh G3 (beige) computer, Nakamichi 600 cassette deck
Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: Generic 16-gauge wire.
Room Size (LxWxH): 15' x 7' x 7'
Room Comments/Treatments: Carpet on the floor. Ugly paneling walls.
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Rock, blues, ska, folk.
System Goals/Comments: A good and cheap system to listen to while typing. I love that 70s Sansui sound!
System Strengths: Excellent sound with both (stacked) pairs of speakers driven (they're at one end of the room, behind the computer desk). Total system cost: $275.
System Weaknesses: Wall power is awful; there's no way to have the refrigerator, computer and this system on different circuits in my apartment without running a 100-foot extension cord through my kitchen.
Video/HT System: None
