|
Room Size (LxWxH): | 26 x 13.5 x 9 |
Room Comments/Treatments: | Room needs lots of acoustic help!!! Large and open, though -- superb for HT. I really need to invest in some bass tubes, diffusors, or other room treatments. |
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): | Just about anything but rap or country; or hip-hop, whatever that is. |
System Goals/Comments: | Looking for audio nirvana found in high-end system that had Theta front-end, Rowland amp/preamp and Proac 2.5 speakers. Either that or a hot wife -- still deciding. I don't know if I could juggle both at the same time. |
System Strengths: | Exceptional clarity, but room makes midrange harsh in presence region and bass has large peaks, dips. Is missing dynamic range in lower end, like drum smacks. |
System Weaknesses: | The owner's lack of cash. I really need some power conditioning equipment/cords, some nice mains speaker cables, and a better transport than the Sony. The room itself is probably my greatest weakness. |
Video/HT System: Integrated
TV/Projector: | Toshiba 36", Sony 20" Wega |
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: | Lexicon MC-1 v4.0 |
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): | Joseph Audio Cinergy (center), Dynaudio Aries (sides), Infinity CS3006 (rear), passive subs run by old Linn LK80 amps (believe it or not they do a decent job) |
Sources (DVD/VCR): | Sony DVP S-7000 |
Other HT Gear: | Polycrystal Audio Rack |
Comments on HT System: | Great sound for movies, pretty good for 2-channel. The Lexicon is a gem. Extremly clear sound and great panning. |
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: | Trying NOT to go nuts on power and room treatment now. Does this upgrade stuff ever stop?? |
