RussGrace's Latest and Greatest System
Last Update: May 06, 2003 at 13:44:51 IP Address: 24.195.52.5
Amplifier: McIntosh MC-122 100 wt (SS) amp

Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): Conrad Johnson PV 14LS (Tubed) preamp, new purchase as of 12/15/01.
Speakers: Icon Acoustic Parsec speakers, 3-way floor standing, approx. sensitivity 89db @ 1m., (capable of 2w-180w). Designed by a former engineer who left Conrad Johnson in 1989 and started his own mail-order speaker company in Mass (defunct since 1991).
Sources:
CD Player/DAC: Sony CDP-508-ESD Elite (1988 model), single disc CD player/transport.
Turntable/Phono Stage: Rega Planar 25 /RB900 Tonearm / Rega Exact MM cartridge. New purchase as of 01/02.

Conrad Johnson EV-1 phono stage (tubed), also new purchase as of 01/02.

Other Source(s): Adcom GTP-502 tuner/preamp. Used only as a tuner, currently.
Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: Speaker cables: AQ Emerald(?) or Type IV(?)

(bi-wired (blue color)

Interconn: Harmonic Technology Pro-Silway MkII, RCA, 1 mtr (2 pair)

Other (Power Conditioner, Racks etc.): CWD three-unit oak and glass entertainment center.
Room Size (LxWxH): 18.5 x 13 x 8
Room Comments/Treatments: Room needs some tweaking as far as placement of speakers. Have a townhouse condo so it's hard to avoid placing speakers far enough apart and overstuffing room with glass tables, and furniture. They are placed 5.5 ft apart and I sit 7 feet away about 2.5 ft from rear wall.
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Classical, Classic Rock, Jazz (no Kenny G.), Folk, world music, progressive rock.
System Goals/Comments: Looking to collect more music (broaden tastes), more vinyl; eventually upgrade CD player when/if this one breaks.
System Strengths: Full range of freq., quite dynamic, reasonably accurate and lively soundstage.
System Weaknesses: Listening room needs acoustic treatment. I'll move in the next few years and then I can redo the next space to suit my needs.
Video/HT System: None
TV/Projector: Sony 32-inch KV-32FS300
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: Sony DVP-NC655P CD/DVD 5-disc player
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: Bicycling, jogging, Photography, digital imaging (B&W images and color), cooking, good wine.
